As a pre-medicine student, I chose to work in harm reduction because health is shaped not only by medicine but also by social and environmental factors. Through Idea Exchange, I have witnessed firsthand how stigma and barriers influence participants’ views of the healthcare system. This experience has shaped my goal of becoming a physician who combines clinical care with compassion and advocacy.
